India's batting stalwart Rinku Singh has received applause from none other than the bowling sensation Ravichandran Ashwin. In a heartwarming compliment, Ashwin called Rinku Singh a ‘left-handed MS Dhoni’.

Impressed with Rinku’s terrific batting in the recently concluded T20I series against Afghanistan, Ashwin was all praise for the young talent.

“He is somebody I’d call a left-handed MS Dhoni. I can’t compare him to Dhoni just yet because Dhoni is too big. But, I am talking about the composure that he brings,” Ashwin said on his YouTube channel.

He continued, “Rinku has been consistently scoring buckets of runs and broke his way into the Indian team so soon. He was on the KKR bench for many years.”

During the interaction, Ashwin also revealed how Rinku won over the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) management with his sportsmanship.

“When he was at KKR, even though he couldn’t get the chance to bat at practice, he would collect all the balls that the batters hit in throwdowns and give them back to the bowlers,” Ashwin revealed.

“He has shown that he’s always available to get Team India out of a tricky situation or finish a game in style like MS Dhoni,” he added.

In an impressive batting performance, Rinku Singh aided India captain Rohit Sharma to take on the Afghanistan team. He emerged as the saviour for Team India and stood tall with the Hitman to ensure India’s thrilling victory in the super overs.
