Royal Challengers Banglore’s dream of lifting an IPL title was shattered after their defeat by Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator of IPL 2024. Emotions went high during the game at Narendra Modi Stadium with the cries of ‘Ee sala cup Namde’ by the loyal RCB supporters. Despite the result, Royal Challengers Banglore overcame all odds by winning 6 games in a row to the playoffs.

After the game got over, Dinesh Karthik removed his gloves and acknowledged the applause from the crowd in Ahmedabad.

The RCB players also presented Karthik with a guard of honour as he made his way back into the dressing room. The 38-year-old player also shared an emotional embrace with Virat Kohli after their heartbreaking loss to Rajasthan on Wednesday.

Karthik hasn’t officially made his retirement from IPL, after having stressed quite a few times throughout the season that IPL 2024 might be his last.

Dinesh Karthik will be always remembered for his late blitz that he provided for RCB and for taking some amazing catches behind the wickets. With an incredible strike rate of 187.36, Karthik scored 326 runs in 15 games in IPL 2024.
