MS Dhoni
Veteran wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni is facing massive criticism after Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) 25-run defeat against Delhi Capitals (DC) in a match of the IPL 2025 on Saturday.
While batting at No.7, Dhoni scored an unbeaten 30 runs off 26 balls despite coming to the middle in the 11th over. The veteran cricketer didn’t show any intent from the start and only hit 1 six and 1 four during the chase of 184 runs.
As a result, CSK lost just five wickets but could only score 158. The third consecutive loss in IPL 2025 has pushed the Yellow Brigade to the ninth spot in the points table.
Meanwhile, Dhoni has drawn flak from several cricketers of not helping the team during challenging times in the batting department.

In response, former India opener Navjot Singh Sidhu feels Dhoni is doing more harm to his legacy by not contributing in crunch moments.
"Dhoni's match-winning memories are there in our minds. We still remember Dhoni of old times. We don’t want to see Dhoni in the current state where he is showing no intent to win matches. Win or defeat can happen to anyone, but you need to show some fight," said Sidhu during a recent interaction.
"This is what Delhi Capitals did in the match against CSK. I fear for MS Dhoni’s legacy. It could diminish. Truth is always bitter, but you can’t run away from it," he added.
