Prithvi Shaw
Prithvi Shaw has been gifted with precious talent. The diminutive right hander can take away the game from any opposition attack in just the initial few overs with his aggressive brand of cricket. However, indiscipline coupled with inconsistency and fitness issues has put his international career in jeopardy.
Despite having flashes of brilliance, Shaw was in and out of the Indian team during the initial phase of his career. With competition gradually getting tough, Shaw has been finding it very difficult to make a comeback into the Indian team. Moreover, his poor form in the IPL and domestic tournaments has not also helped his cause.
Making things worse, Shaw has been recently dropped from Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy squad. Though the team management didn’t provide the exact reason behind his exclusion from the team, it has been widely reported that the coaches are not happy with his attitude towards fitness and discipline.
As per reports, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) selection committee, comprising Sanjay Patil (chairman), Ravi Thaker, Jeetendra Thackeray, Kiran Powar and Vikrant Yeligeti has reportedly decided to leave out Shaw at least for one Ranji Trophy game.
As per sources, Shaw’s indiscipline has become a big headache for the Maharashtra Cricket Association. The selectors and the team management are reportedly looking to teach the opening batter a lesson by dropping him from the Ranji Trophy squad.
