Explosive Indian batter Prithvi Shaw was attacked in Mumbai for denying a selfie. Fortunately, Shaw managed to escape from the fatal attack.

As many as eight people allegedly attacked the 23-year-old cricketer who was sitting in his friend’s car. Mumbai Police registered a case against all the eight persons involved in the attack.

As per reports, the accused persons asked Shaw for a selfie. However, when the cricketer refused them, they got irked and started pelting stones at his friend’s car.

Following the incident, Mumbai Police started an investigation and booked eight people under several sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Though Saw is not a regular member in the Indian cricket team, the Delhi Capitals opener is pretty popular among the fans for his explosive batting.

Prithvi has not played an international game for the Men in Blue since July 2021. He was selected in the Indian squad for the T20I series against New Zealand last month after a gap of more than 18 months. However, he failed to get a place in the playing XI.

Recently, Shaw was trending on social media when a photo of him with his rumoured girlfriend Niddhi Tapadia went viral on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. The picture was shared from Prithvi’s Instagram account. In the picture, Prithvi can be seen having a cozy moment with Tapadia.

However, when the picture started making headlines, Shaw took to Instagram to clarify. He called the photos fake and dispelled marriage rumour.
