World No.1 para shuttler from Odisha, Pramod Bhagat went down fighting against Daniel Bethell of England in the summit clash of the SL-3 category of the 4 Nations Para-Badminton International Tournament in Dublin on Sunday.

Pramod had to content with the runner-up finish and settled for a silver medal. He went down fighting in straight sets in the 50-minute clash. The final scorecard read 21-17 and 21-09 in Daniel's favour.

The Padma Shri sportsman started the game well but somehow couldn't find his footing in the match as Daniel had answers to everything that was thrown at him.

Talking about his performance Pramod said, “I am disappointed with my show in the all-important final. I tried everything possible but couldn’t execute those. Daniel played very well. This loss will motivate me to perform better in the upcoming tournaments," he said.

Meanwhile, another Odia para shuttler Deep Ranjan Bisoi bagged a bronze medal after bowing out to Lukas Majur of France in the SL-4 category semifinal clash.

Bisoi lost against his French counterpart 11-21, 7-21 in a lop-sided encounter.
