Aman Sehrawat
Aman Sehrawat made India proud by winning bronze medal in the men’s 57kg freestyle bronze medal playoff at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024.
Aman also created history in the process. He became the first wrestler to win a medal for India in Paris 2024. He also achieved the feat of becoming the youngest wrestler in Indian history to win an Olympic medal.
Aman also became the seventh Indian wrestler to clinch an Olympic medal. In the process, he entered the legendary list comprising KD Jadhav, Sushil Kumar, Yogeshwar Dutt, Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia and Ravi Dahiya.
Aman is from Birohar in Haryana’s Jhajjar district. He was born on July 16, 2003. He is currently 21-years-old. He began with mud wrestling initially. However, getting inspired by Sushil Kumar’s silver medal win in 2012 Olympics, he joined the Chhatrasal Stadium in New Delhi at the age of 10.
Unfortunately, Aman’s parents died due to health ailments when he was only 11-years-old. However, braving all odds, he struggled hard to bring laurels for India in the ongoing Paris Olympics. Aman’s feat saw him increase India’s medal tally from five to six.
