Pakistan are currently struggling in the ongoing ICC ODI World Cup 2023 to enter into the knockout phase. The captain of the Green Army Babar Azam is also facing a lot of criticism for his poor leadership skills. Several experts and fans back home are also of the opinion that Babar should be axed as the captain of Pakistan after the mega event.

Amid the chaos, Babar has found himself in the spotlight for a surprising reason ahead of Pakistan’s crucial match against New Zealand.

As per reports, beleaguered Babar splurged on a whopping seven lakh rupees on a designer sherwani, a traditional Indian outfit, for his upcoming wedding. He purchased the designer sherwani at a renowned Indian designer’s boutique- Sabyasachi, known for their exquisite bridal and groom wear. Babar’s wedding is scheduled to take place at the end of this year.

It’s rare for a captain to engage in wedding shopping during such an important tournament, raising eyebrows and potential controversy within cricketing circles.

Pakistan are currently occupying the sixth spot on the points table with six points in their kitty. They have so far won only three of their seven matches.
