Olympian Manu Bhaker created fake account to defend PV Sindhu
After creating history by becoming India’s first woman athlete to clinch a medal in Olympics, India’s pride Manu Bhaker has also become the first athlete of independent India to bag two medals in a single edition of the Olympics. Manu has become the second Indian after Norman Pritchand to win two Olympic medals in a single edition of the Games. However, his achievement came in the pre-independence era.
Manu has become the second Indian woman to win two medals in the Olympics after ace shuttler PV Sindhu, who she considers her idol. Recently, Manu recalled how PV Sindhu is her idol and source of inspiration.
She hilariously recalled an interesting incident when she created a fake account to stand in support of PV Sindhu while the latter was being trolled online.
“I have always had great admiration for all the great legends in the Indian sports history. In my time, I have always known PV Sindhu and Neeraj Chopra. I have always looked up to them and really appreciated them for their hard work,” Manu said.

“There was this one time and I made a fake profile to defend Sindhu. Some haters were commenting and I got so triggered that I created a fake profile and defended her,” she recalled.
She also gave a piece of advice to the younger generation and said, “So, for the next generation, upcoming future athletes, I would like to tell them that you have to be confident. You have to work hard honest with yourself, stay honest to yourself and keep working hard. Success if not in one Olympic like me, in Tokyo, then the other Olympic, like Paris will be for you,”
