As the situation is gradually limping back to normalcy after one of the biggest ever train tragedies in the history of India at Bahanaga station in Balasore district which claimed the lives of 275 passengers, several reports published in some sections of media have stated that former Team India captain Virat Kohli is donating a whopping Rs 30 Cr for the victims.

The star batsman had come up with a tweet following the grave incident where he claimed that he was saddened by what has happened and was praying for the families of the victims.

“Saddened to hear about the tragic train accident in Odisha. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families who lost their loved ones and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured,” Kohli’s tweet read.

However, as far as Kohli’s donation of Rs 30 crore to the accident victims is concerned, there is nothing official about it and these reports are purely based on rumours.

Kohli is currently in UK for the marquee World Test Championship Final 2023 against formidable Australia to be played at the Oval starting from June 7. Kohli is currently in red hot form and he is going to be the batting mainstay for Team India in the all-important match.
