With the yellow metal, Pramod has won three medals including two bronze in the Para Asian Games for the first time.

Earlier on Thursday, Pramod and his partner Sukant Kadam had secured bronze medal at the men’s doubles SL3-SL4 category of the mega event. The India went down fighting to the Indonesian pair of Setiawan Fredy and Dwiyoko in a tight three set encounter.

On Wednesday, Pramod and his partner Manisha Ramdass had secured bronze medal in the para-badminton mixed doubles event.

The Indian pair bowed out in the semifinals of the mixed doubles SL3-SU5 event to be satisfied with the bronze medal. Indonesia’s Leani Ratri and Hikmat Ramdani sealed their place in the final with a 2-0 victory over the Indian duo.

Notably, in 2018 edition of the Para Asian Games, Pramod had won gold in singles category and bronze in the doubles category.

“I am ecstatic to win the gold medal in the men’s singles category. I am also very happy to win medals in all the three events in which I participated. The performance in the Para Asian Games has bolstered my confidence. It will keep me in good stead to win medals in the upcoming Paris Paralympics 2024. I express my thanks and gratitude before the people of Odisha and the Chief Minister of the State for providing all kinds of help, support and encouragement,” said Pramod.
