As the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 commences in India from Thursday, former left-handed opener Shikhar Dhawan has extended his best wishes to the Men in Blue.

The aggressive southpaw motivated Team India by giving an inspiring message on his official X (earlier known as Twitter) handle.

“Chak De India!  Let’s paint the world blue, boys! All the best on your World Cup journey. Bring that trophy home! TeamIndia WorldCup2023,” wrote Dhawan on X.

Dhawan’s post has reportedly gone viral within no time. It has garnered more than 39.3k likes so far. Several fans have also showered the comment box with amazing comments.

Reacting to the post, a fan wrote, “Most selfless guy of Team India.”

“India aapko bahut miss karega sir. Aap ICC tournament ke legend the sir,” tweeted another fan.

The tournament’s first match is being played between England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad today. Meanwhile, India’s first match will be played against Australia at the M A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8.
