Pakistan may play their ODI World Cup 2023 matches in Bangladesh. As per media reports, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed its wish to play the matches of the mega event in Bangladesh following India’s demand to play their Asia Cup 2023 matches outside Pakistan.

The idea has been discussed on the sidelines of ICC meetings in Dubai. However, as per Bangladesh Cricket Board nothing in this regard has been finalised yet.

India will host the ODI World Cup later this year.

Pakistan have given an option to play their ODI World Cup 2023 matches in Bangladesh after it was reported earlier this month that India may play their Asia Cup 2023 matches outside Pakistan with Oman, UAE, Sri Lanka and England as potential venues.

Notably, Pakistan are hosting the Asia Cup 2023 in September. However, India have denied visiting their neighbouring country citing security concerns.

Earlier, Pakistan have threatened that they will boycott the ODI World Cup if India don’t come to Pakistan to play Asia Cup. Many former Pakistan cricketers and experts have also urged PCB to boycott the ODI World Cup 2023 following BCCI’s refusal to visit Pakistan.

A couple of days back, former Pakistan cricketer Imran Nazir had made a bold statement regarding India’s decision not to travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023. According to Nazir, India is ‘afraid of losing’ and are using security concerns as an excuse to avoid playing in Pakistan.
