In a big blow to Team India, star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the remaining part of the tournament due to ankle injury.
Hardik had hurt his ankle while fielding off his own bowling in the match against Bangladesh. Two weeks later, he has been ruled out of the mega event due to the same injury. The utility all-rounder’s absence could dent the chances of the Men in Blue in the knock-out stage.
The top all-rounder reacted to the unfortunate development with an emotional note on Instagram. As per Pandya, it is tough for him to digest the fact that he is out of the World Cup.
“Tough to digest the fact that I will miss out on the remaining part of the World Cup. I’ll be with the team, in spirit, cheering them on every ball of every game. Thanks for all the wishes, the love, and the support has been incredible. This team is special and I’m sure we’ll make everyone proud. Love, always, HP,” wrote Pandya.
Notably, Pandya was an important member for Team India to give it the necessary balance. Though, Pandya’s absence has not yet affected the performance of the team, it will be a tough test for the Men in Blue in the knock-out stage.
