Former India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni on Friday dropped a massive Bombshell by hinting about his retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL).
“All said and done, it’s the last phase of my career, however long I play. After two years, the fans have had the opportunity to come here and watch, feels good to be here. Crowd has given us a lot of love and affection,” said Dhoni after the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
While fans were stunned by Dhoni’s hint about IPL retirement, former England and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Eoin Morgan said that the effect of Dhoni will be fully felt when Captain Cool leaves the stage.
“It’s great to see these guys. They are very grateful for him as a leader, but you’ll only realize how much he is missed when he goes. That is going to be the effect. His impact of leading key players in the side who are key performers for the CSK at the moment will miss him when he finishes,” said Morgan.
“You can see how animated Dhoni is during the game. He is propelling all the information that he’s taken over the years. It’s great to see. CSK and all the fans across the globe will miss Dhoni’s absence as the Captain Cool,” he added.
