The legendry cricketer had been allotted five katah of land in the upscale Harmu Housing Colony by the Jharkhand government through a gift deed. In response, Chairman of Jharkhand State Housing Board Sanjay Lal Paswan said that the rules prohibit the use of residential plots for commercial activities.

“We have received complaints and instructed officials to investigate. If the allegations are proven, a notice will be issued to Dhoni,” said Paswan.

The board has already issued notices to approximately 300 property owners for similar violations of using residential plots for commercial purposes.

Notably, veteran cricketer Dhoni has been included in the Channai Super Kings (CSK) team an ‘uncapped’ player for a salary of Rs 4 crore.
