Speculation was rife even before the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 that former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni will retire after the mega event. However, it seems, there could be a twist in the tale.

Veteran wicketkeeper batsman Dhoni, who is 42, may feature in the upcoming season of the IPL, reckons former India bowler RP Singh.

As per Singh, Dhoni has always done things no one has expected when it comes to retiring. Then the former speedster said if that is any trend to go by, Dhoni may have other plans.

Singh made a bold prediction that Dhoni may play one more season for CSK in IPL.

“Dhoni Seems fit and if everything goes well, Dhoni may play one more season for CSK,” said Singh on air.

Notably, Dhoni seems fully fit during IPL after undergoing a knee operation. Coming in with four balls left in the innings, Dhoni clobbered a hat-trick of sixes of Hardik Pandya to help CSK post 206 for four in 20 overs against Mumbai Indians (MI) in a match of the ongoing IPL.

After the completion of the match, MI captain Hardik Pandya credited Dhoni for being the difference between both the teams.
