PUBLISHED: LAST UPDATE:

MS Dhoni

In a surprising turn of events, former captain of the Indian cricket team, MS Dhoni refrained from commenting on India's recent ICC Champions Trophy 2025 victory.

Under the deft leadership of Rohit Sharma, the Indian squad was invincible throughout the series, securing the championship trophy by defeating New Zealand in the final. This triumph is particularly significant, marking India's first Champions Trophy title since their last win in 2013, which was achieved under Dhoni's stewardship.

Why Such Allegations Brought Against MS Dhoni?

Meanwhile, Dhoni was recently captured in a video, circulating on social media, where he was approached by a journalist at an airport. When requested to share his thoughts on India's accomplishment, Dhoni declined to comment, instead gesturing for the reporter to step aside as he made his way through the terminal.

Social Media Reaction:

This gesture of MS has not gone well with a section of fans who slammed him for his behaviour. “Insecurity at its peak,” a fan claimed.

Likewise, another fan shared, “After that 2019 WC SF the way he played in the last 10 overs man I just don't like at all.”

However, a section of fans came out in his support. “Yes cause when he used to return after winning so many trophies he always responds to media, dances with them. Get a life bro!! Celebrate Indian Cricket, celebrate Rohit Sharma but don’t try to put down somebody else!” shared another user.

Focus on IPL 2025:

As anticipation mounts for the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season, Dhoni is slated to play in the 2025 IPL season with Chennai Super Kings (CSK), aiming to clinch a sixth title.

Led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK is set to face their traditional rival, Mumbai Indians, at Chennai's Chepauk Stadium on March 23.
