Mohammed Siraj
In India’s thrilling six-run win over England in the fifth Test at The Oval, Mohammed Siraj was a force of nature, claiming nine wickets and powering India to a series-leveling 2-2 draw. But behind those relentless spells lies a story of iron discipline, quiet sacrifice, and a hunger to bounce back stronger.
Despite playing all five Tests, Siraj bowled multiple eight-over spells with unshaken energy and intensity. He finished the series as the highest wicket-taker, bagging 23 wickets in five matches, including two five-wicket hauls, and was rightfully named Player of the Match at The Oval.
Siraj’s brother, Mohammed Ismail, revealed the secret behind his endurance — his disciplined lifestyle. “Yes, absolutely. He avoids junk food completely. Even in Hyderabad, he rarely touches biryani, and only if it’s homemade. No pizzas, no fast food, just clean, body-focused eating,” Ismail told India Today.
Siraj’s exclusion from the Champions Trophy 2025 squad didn’t break him; it drove him. “100%, he never gives up. After the snub, he trained harder, hit the gym, practiced day and night, and worked on his game with unmatched dedication,” said Ismail.
Mohammed Siraj's journey is a masterclass in resilience, proving that talent shines brightest when powered by discipline and focus. With his form peaking again, a return to the ODI squad may be just around the corner.
