World Cup winning France defender Frank Leboeuf has given an explosive statement that two of the greatest footballers in the history of the game- PSG star Lionel Messi and Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo are no longer the best players in the world.

Leboeuf has urged fans to shift their focus away from Messi and Ronaldo as the era of the duo has changed.

“Football crazy fans have to stop focusing on those players and we don’t have to compare them anymore. They have been fantastic players but the time has changed,” said Leboeuf.

As per the former French international, the likes of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe are the emerging talents who are going to rule world football in the coming years.

“We want to see Haalamd and Mbappe more. Some new promising players are going to come up and we have to recognise their talents. We have to admit that Messi and Ronaldo are no longer the best players,” he said.

Notably, both Messi and Ronaldo are not in the best of forms in their respective second-leg fixtures in the round of 16 as PSG and Manchester United crashed out of the UEFA Champions League in the first knock-out round of the season’s competition.
