Lasith Malinga’s son Duvin bowls with similar action - watch

There is a saying- like father like son. When Duvin Malinga started bowling in the Mumbai Indians New York nets on the sidelines of the Major League Cricket (MLC), it was clear that he shared more than just the surname with his illustrious father, Lasith Malinga, who enchanted the world with a slinging action. 

Well, Lasith’s son Duvin has now shown a similar kind of action. In a video posted by Mumbai Indians on their Instagram account, Malinga can be seen overseeing his son’s progress. He had also few suggestions too for the budding cricketer.

“Duvin has got that natural action. He needs to bowl straight and fast. If he beats that, he can learn the skills,” said Lasith about his son’s action.

Another Sri Lanka speedster Matheesha Pathirana who played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 also bowled brilliantly to help his team emerge champions in the mega event.

Lasith heaped praise on Pathirama and said that he wants the CSK pacer to be better than him.

Notably, during the IPL 2023, Malinga was a bowling consultant with Rajasthan Royals (RR). He had dominated the cash-rich league for many years.
