The epic clash between Kavya Maran’s Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Preity Zinta’s Punjab Kings last night was worth watching. The epic final over witnessed huge drama as Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Singh hit an impressive 26 runs in last over.

The stunning final over nearly took Punjab Kings home, but the Preity Zinta team fell short of 2 runs despite terrific performances by Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma. Despite 3 catch drops in the final over, SRH managed to defend their runs, adding another win to their kitty in this year’s IPL.

PBKS had to score 29 runs in the final over, just too big a task to be accomplished. Captain Pat Cummins handed the ball to Jaydev Unadkat to complete the challenge. Unadkat conceded 14 runs in the first two legal balls with a six in the first ball. Unadkat then bowled two wide deliveries before another ball sailed over the boundary for a six. Nervousness crept in SRH bowler Unadkat as Ashutosh looked to continue his onslaught after hitting two sixes in the over.

He then took two doubles to bring the Sunrisers back in the game. A wide and a single, then brought Shashank Singh to the crease. With the final deliveries awaiting Shashank, 9 runs were needed to be scored, and the PBKS batter delivered the maximum possible, a massive 6.

Despite their best efforts, Punjab suffered a 2-run defeat. However, unlike other games where fans troll each other, this time the fans were seen heaping praises on both the teams for the astounding game. Both the teams performed very well and the game was worth watching.

“We couldn’t cash in on the first 6 overs, lost 3 wickets and that’s where we fell behind and it cost us in the end. Shashank and Ashutosh played a great knock,” PBKS captain Shikhar Dhawan said after the match.
