The batting display of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), the top highest run-scorers in the ongoing IPL, was beyond disappointing. It was a mundane performance by the Pat Cummins-led team against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Qualifier 1 match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Their decision to bat first stemmed from the belief that they would be able to back their strength. However, what happened was quite the opposite. The fiery spell by Mitchell Starc led to SRH’s downfall during the powerplay.
The saddest person after the devastating loss was Kavya Maran, the co-owner of SRH. Maran, who has been a constant presence in her team’s matches throughout the IPL, was visibly heartbroken and clearly not happy with the performance of her team.

One particular expression of hers when SRH lost a review is now going viral. It happened during a review against KKR’s Suni Narine in the third over. The appeal was for a LBW off the bowling of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, but DRS showed that the ball was pitched outside leg.
This left Maran stunned and her expression has now become a trend on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“She knows enough about cricket now, she could try for women's cricket head coach,” another fan commented.

Meanwhile, SRH will get another chance as they will next take on the winner of the Eliminator match between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Chennai on Friday.
