Konark Suryas, first team from Odisha to join Legends League Cricket, launched in the presence of Captain Irfan Pathan
The much-awaited Legends League Cricket (LLC) is back with another edition of a thrilling tournament. For the first time, a team from Odisha will also be part of the league beginning on 20th September. The tournament will start with an explosive match between former spin king Harbhajan Singh’s Manipal Tigers and Odisha’s ‘Konark Suryas’ led by former India pacer Irfan Pathan.
The team ‘Konark Suryas’ was recently launched in a special programme in Bhubaneswar.
Among the players in the team are Binaya Kumar, Rajesh Bisoyi and Sahabaz Nadeem. OAC secretary Sanjay Behera attended the programme as the chief guest and inspired the players to represent Odisha in the national level cricket tournament and bring the trophy home.
Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan is all set to lead the team as the Captain.
“Coming to this City of Temple is always a blessing and a very special feeling. I get a lot of love from the people here. The food here is delicious too. Now, I’m officially associated with Odisha. This is the first time, I’m connecting with Odisha at a personal level,” said former India pacer Irfan Pathan.
“Now, I have a big responsibility for this beautiful state to represent Konark Suryas in the Leagues Cricket and at the same time contribute to other actual sports of Odisha,” he added.
A total of 25 matches will be played among six teams and the last two teams standing will play an electrifying final on October 16. The tournament will unfold across four cities- Jodhpur, Surat, Jammu and Srinagar.
