Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) suffered their third successive home defeat in the ongoing IPL 2025 as they lost to Punjab Kings (PBKS) in a rain-affected match on Friday.
Due to the defeat, RCB were relegated to the fourth place in the standings, while Punjab Kings moved up to the second position.
Many experts and fans including former India explosive opener Virender Sehwag slammed RCB batting by citing a lack of strategic sense in their approach.
According to Sehwag, poor shot selection led to RCB batters' dismissals. He felt a lack of sensible batting cost them a competitive total, suggesting that with more responsible play, they could have easily reached a score of 110-120 in 14 overs.
Though Sehwag acknowledgd the bowlers’ strong performance, he suggested that Royal Challengers Bangalore’s batting lineup was responsible for their dismissals.

PBKS bowlers Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, Marco Jansen, and Harpreet Brar bowled brilliantly to claim two wickets each.
"There is difference between getting wickets and earning wickets," said Sehwag in a sarcastic manner.
