The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued a stern warning amid rising anxieties over match-fixing activities in IPL 2025 involving a businessman from Hyderabad.
The BCCI's Anti-Corruption Security Unit (ACSU) has raised alarms about the individual's possible links to betting syndicates. The businessman is accused of attempting to ingratiate himself with tournament stakeholders by offering extravagant gifts. Additionally, there are concerns that those associated with players and team personnel, including family members, might be targeted.
The integrity of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is under scrutiny as the ACSU meticulously monitors interactions between the businessman and league participants. A comprehensive advisory has been dispatched to all franchises, players, coaches, support staff, and commentators, cautioning them to maintain vigilance and report any suspicious approaches.
In a positive development for the IPL 2025, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have announced the return of pacer Mayank Yadav to their squad. Yadav rejoined his team ahead of their fixture against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. The right-arm bowler had been sidelined due to a back injury but is now fit, following rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.

The team anticipates Yadav's participation in the match scheduled for Saturday, where he is expected to enhance the team's bowling lineup. This return marks a significant boost for the team, having faced challenges at the beginning of the season without him.
Yadav's anticipated performance is awaited eagerly, especially after his international debut against Bangladesh in October 2024. His teammates celebrated his comeback in a warm reception at the hotel's entry, with Yadav interacting with staff and fans by signing autographs. Coach Justin Langer has also shown confidence in Yadav’s recovery and imminent impact, having monitored his progress closely.
