IPL
The 2025 IPL auction is right around the corner. Scheduled to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, this event will be a mega-auction where most teams are expected to see a complete revamp.
Last held in 2022, mega-auctions allow franchises to retain only a maximum of six players and build the rest of the squad from scratch. Moreover, with over 1,574 players set to be auctioned and each team management having a maximum limit of Rs 120 crore, the cash-rich affair will be one of the most important restructurings in recent IPL history, with a major focus on young talent.
Interestingly, not every franchise has the same amount of money left in their purse for the auction. Teams like the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have already spent their money on key retentions.
As such, before the IPL 2025 auction, here is the list of each team’s available purse money for the mega-event as well as the names of their biggest retentions for the upcoming season.
