Delhi Capitals (DC) star batter and swashbuckling opener Prithvi Shaw finally returned to his form and stamped his authority with a quick-fire half-century against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 encounter at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on Wednesday.

Already out of IPL 2023, DC are plying to salvage some pride. Shaw smashed 54 off 38 balls with the help of seven fours and a six as DC posted 213-2 in the stipulated 20 overs against PBKS.

The explosive batter got a nasty blow on his right hand while facing ace speedster Kagiso Rabada in the second over of DC’s innings. However, he braved the deadly blow in the powerplay and went on to punish the potent bowling attack. He ended up notching up his first half-century in IPL 2023. 

The swashbuckling opener was hailed by several netizens on Twitter for his wonderful knock against PBKS.

Reflecting on Shaw’s knock, a netizen tweeted, “Few bad matches and y’all thought he’s finished? Prithvi Shaw is here to rule.”

“CSK be scared, be very scared. Lord Prithvi Shaw is back,” another fan wrote.

Notably, DC will meet Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their final league game of the IPL 2023.
