In a bad news to the fans, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni is doubtful for the all-important playoff game in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The veteran wicket-keeper batsman has been struggling with his knee throughout IPL 2023. The Captain Cool was seen clearly struggling to run between the wickets during their match against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Saturday. Now CSK batting coach Michael Hussey has provided an important update on Dhoni’s injury.

As per Hussey, Dhoni is not 100 per cent fit and that is the reason why he is not being able to run well.

“Dhoni’s knee is not 100 per cent at the moment. That’s why he is managing himself and coming into bat in the last two-three overs. He is not able to run as well as he did in his heydays. However, he is doing the things right and hitting the ball really well,” said Hussey during the mid-innings break at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Notably, CSK got the better of Delhi Capitals (DC) by 77 runs to seal a playoff spot in IPL 2023 for themselves. The Dhoni-led side ended their 14-match league campaign with 17 points and that is good enough to ensure them a last four finish.
