Delhi Capitals (DC) have registered a convincing seven-wicket victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their last match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday night.
DC captain David Warner and his explosive opening partner Phil Salt were found in a verbal spat with RCB speedster Mohammed Siraj during the match.
Shedding light on the heated exchange, Warner revealed that it was his team’s plan to go hard on RCB’s star pacer Mohammed Siraj.
“Our intention was to take on Siraj, he’s been bowling well and taking wickets early. His wickets have been bowled or LBW so we wanted to drag his length back,” said Warner.
“We said from the outset that we wanted to try and target Siraj. That was our intention. We knew he has been bowling really well and been their backbone so if we could just take him on, it would work in our favour,” he added.
After the victory, DC moved up to the ninth position in the points table with four wins in 10 matches. They have still their play-off hopes alive. Meanwhile, RCB are in the fifth spot with five victories in 10 matches.
