Delhi Capitals opening batsman David Warner (92, 58b, 12x4, 3x6) smashed a belligerent  match winning half century against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in match 50 of IPL 2022  at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.

In some ways, it was a fitting reply to his former IPL team SRH as he did get a great farewell from the team.

The Australian batsman had a poor 2021 season as captain and player for SRH, for whom he has won one title in 2016. However, the aggressive opener was removed from captaincy as well as benched for the rest of the season.

SRH fans were upset to see the leader of their favourite team  being reduced to a benched player. Even Warner, who is known for his passion and commitment in the game, was disappointed and the disappointment could be seen written on his face.

Warner was not retained by SRH before IPL 2022 auction and he was later picked by Delhi Capitals for Rs 6.25 crore.

Many fans believe that that behind this ‘bad' decision was the SRH CEO Kaviya Maran who is involved in the day-to-day activities at Hyderabad and she has also been picking team during the auctions for two years now.

Following Warner’s explosive knock against SRH, Kaviya was trolled by fans.

“Kavya Maran must be crying seeing Warner’s innings,” tweeted a fan.

“Why did SRH not retain Warner? He is having an amazing 2022 and has carried SRH for so long ,” wrote another fan.
