Captain Cool MS Dhoni is still leading Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the age of 40. In the last season, Dhoni led the franchise to their fourth title win.

It’s difficult to think of CSK without former Indian captain Dhoni. However, as far as batting is concerned the aggressive batsman didn’t have the best of times in the last few seasons. He has managed to score a paltry 114 runs in the last season and only 314 runs in the past two seasons.

Many cricket experts feel that Dhoni has passed his prime and his prowess as a finisher has waned over the years.

“Dhoni is no longer the same finisher that he was known to be a few years back. He has to bat up the order and take more responsibilities. If he takes his time, he could hit a few lusty blows later,” said former India all-rounder Reetinder Singh Sodhi.

“Dhoni knows that he is the key to CSK’s prospects. Hence, he should take more responsibilities and bat up the order to give himself more time to settle down and play big strokes later,” said Sodhi.
