In a technical glitch, the speed gun went wrong during ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s eighth over to Shubman Gill during the IPL Qualifier 1 in Kolkata on Tuesday. It happened when Rajasthan were trying to defend 189 against Gujarat Titans at the Eden Gardens on Tuesday.

The speed gun suddenly showed Ashwin had bowled the delivery at 131.6 kmph. The mess up left fans watching the match on television stunned as many started to wonder how the off-spinner’s delivery clocked such a high speed. Some of them took screenshots of the technical error and started commenting on it hilariously.

Some fans even went to the extent of saying that a 150 kph delivery from Ashwin could be delivered soon considering the way he is evolving and even Shoaib Akhtar’s fastest ball record could be in jeopardy.

Another fan hilariously said Ashwin is interested in winning the Swiggy Instasmart Fastest Delivery award.

Notably, Rajasthan Royals ended up on the losing end in the IPL 2022 Qualifier 1 after going down to Gujarat Titans by seven wickets.
