Inter Milan clinched their eighth Italian Cup on Wednesday after conquering old foes Juventus 4-2 in an extra-time win mired with controversies.

Nicolo Barella opened the score for the Nerazzurri in the 6th minute before an inspiring comeback from the Juventus who scored two goals in the space of two minutes from Alex Sandro and Dusan Vlahovic.

However, Inter clinched the equaliser through Hakan Calhanoglu who smashed home a soft penalty to take the match to extra time.

Croatian winger Ivan Perisic scored two thrilling quickfire goals in the extra time to seal the 8th Coppa Italia win for the Milan side.

This is Inter's second major success over Juve as they had earlier beaten the Old Lady in Turin last month to claim Italian Super Cup.

Inter, now second in the Serie A, sit just two points behind league leaders and city neighbours AC Milan with just two games to play while Juventus who are set to finish the season without any trophies will only aim to take a fourth place finish to qualify for next season Champions League.
