After a thrilling win against arch-rivals Pakistan, India will take on Netherlands in their second match of the T20 World Cup 2022 at Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday.

Team India players have already reached the city. An optional training session was also organised with a few players attending it. However, the cricketers are not happy with the food served to them by International Cricket Council (ICC).

The mega event is hosted by ICC and all the arrangements are being done by it including the players’ after-practice meal. Some Indian players complained that there was no hot food available to eat after the practice sessions.

The after-practice food includes sandwiches, fruits, and falafel and it is same for all the teams. Indian team members were not satisfied with the food and skipped it. They went to their hotel and had the food over there.

As per a BCCI official, it’s not any boycott. Some players had fruits and falafel but everyone wanted to have lunch and hence they had food after reaching the hotel.

“You can’t just have a cold sandwich with avocado, tomato and cucumber after two hours of training. That is plain and simple inadequate nourishment,” said another BCCI official on condition of anonymity.

It will be interesting if BCCI steps in and arranges hot Indian meals for the players in the coming training sessions.
