Team India skipper Rohit Sharma might have been struggling for runs in the ongoing T20 World Cup in Australia, but England players Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes hailed the explosive right-hander ahead of their semifinal clash at the Adelaide Oval.

Buttler hailed Rohit’s leadership skills by calling him tactically very good. Buttler lauded Rohit’s calmness and said that Team India’s skipper has hardly put a foot wrong in the ongoing mega event.

“India is a brilliant team and Rohit Sharma is a brilliant captain. He is tactically very good. I think he has asked his players to play with more freedom. He is so calm and makes batting effortless,” Buttler told Sunday Times.

Former England captain Ben Stokes was also lavish on his praise for Rohit. Stokes called him a big match player.

“Rohit is a world class player. You can’t take anything away from him on the basis of his performances in last few games. He is a big match player and one of the best batters to play this game. He will definitely deliver in crucial games,” the belligerent all-rounder said.

Notably, Rohit has managed just 89 runs in five innings at a below-par average of 17.80 and a lowly strike rate of 109.87. Apart from his 53-run effort against the Dutch, the aggressive opener has not scored more than 15 in any of his other innings.
