Team India speedster Mohammed Shami has been on the sidelines ever since the ODI World Cup in 2023. He reportedly participated in the mega event despite carrying an injury. As per reports, Shami is continuing to recover well and is expected to be fit in time for the Bangladesh series.
However, the pacer is racing against time to be fit for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.
As per sources, Shami has made considerable progress in his recovery from the ankle injury. The selectors have been informed about Shami’s progress. A decision on his participation in the Duleep Trophy will be taken soon.
The veteran pacer has already started bowling at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). He is believed to be in the final stages of his rehabilitation from injury.
Earlier, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said that Shami’s return is likely for the home series against Bangladesh. The Chairman of Selectors for the Indian men’s team Ajit Agarkar is also confident about Shami’s comeback to the Test team.
