India-England ODI at Barabati: Red and black soil used for pitch; expect high scoring game

OCA curator Anjan Khuntia informed that Barabati stadium pitch has been prepared with red soil from Mumbai and black soil from Kalahandi.

The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) is not leaving any stone unturned to ensure that all preparations are in place for the upcoming India-England ODI to be played at Barabati stadium on February 9 in Cuttack.

On Monday, BCCI’s chief curator Ashish Bhowmick visited Barabati stadium to take stock of the pitch preparations and other aspects including the outfield.

OCA curator Anjan Khuntia informed that Barabati stadium pitch has been prepared with red soil from Mumbai and black soil from Kalahandi.

“The pitch is good and the outfield is also superb. All preparations have been taken to ensure that upcoming India-England ODI is a high scoring game. This will provide amble entertainment to the cricket enthusiasts,” said Khuntia.

India-England ODI at Barabati & Dew Factor

Anti-dew chemical will be sprayed on the grass at Barabati stadium. This will ensure dew doesn’t stay and the outfield is not slippery. This will also ensure that the ball will travel to the fence without any issues, said OCA Curator.

Ticket Sale for India-England ODI at Barabati Stadium

The online sale of tickets for the upcoming India- England ODI match at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack will commence from February 2. Around 4,000 tickets will be put up for sale online. 

The offline ticket sale for the public will be held at the counters of Barabati Stadium from 9 am to 6 pm on February 5 and 6.
