Speaking at a media conference, Javed said, “Pakistan’s T20 team can beat India. This 17-member squad can defeat any team. We shouldn’t put pressure on them, but I have high hopes.”

While Javed exudes confidence, the numbers tell another story. Out of 13 T20I encounters, India have dominated with nine wins, while Pakistan managed just three. One match ended in a tie, famously decided by a bowl-out in India’s favor at the 2007 T20 World Cup. Javed also addressed the possible T20 comeback of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, both of whom haven’t played the format in 2025 so far. He stressed that Pakistan’s selection is performance-driven, citing examples of Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, and Fakhar Zaman making impactful returns after setbacks.
“Opportunities are always there. Whoever performs will play,” Javed remarked.
