Mohammed Shami
Team India veteran pacer Mohammed Shami has not been included in the playing XI for the first T20I against England being held at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Wednesday.
Following the development, speculation is rife among the fans and experts whether Shami has full fitness or not.
Though the 34-year-old pacer bowled for close to half an hour at the side nets, targeting stumps, there is a heavy strapping on Shami’s left knee.
Now, question mark has been raised whether problem of a swelling left knee after each rigorous session is still causing problems for the veteran pacer.

As per sources, Shami’s uneasiness came when he walked back to the dressing room, moving cautiously and taking measured steps, seemingly mindful of his left leg. Shami’s comeback has drawn significant attention in the lead-up to the Champions Trophy, especially with a fitness cloud hanging over premier speedster Jasprit Bumrah, who developed a back niggle during the fifth and the final Test against Australia in Sydney.
With veteran pacer Shami found struggling with his fitness issues, it could be a huge setback for Team India in the upcoming Champions Trophy.
Further question mark has been raised on how the selectors decided to rush the veteran speedster to the tough and tiring task of international cricket when he is not fully fit.
