“Indian batters are not spending time in the middle and their habit of going for strokes at the start of their innings is resulting in their downfall. Kohli has scored a lot of runs with the help of extra-cover drive. That is his most productive shot and despite getting out, he is still tempting to go for that stroke. The late moment is the main reason behind his repeated dismissals,” said Gavaskar.

“Everybody goes through a rough patch, and I think Virat Kohli should watch the video of his past centuries. He will get confidence. Rohit Sharma should follow the same strategy. Both of them are good and are just one good innings away from returning to form. Indian fans are praying that it happens in the Boxing Day Test,” he added.
