England hit rock bottom in day three of the third test match of the Ashes series at the MCG as Australia sent the Three Lions to the pavilion for a pathetic 68 and sealed the match by an innings and 14 runs.

The shocking capitulation of the visitors in the Boxing Day test meant that the Aussies have regained the Urn with an unassailable 3-0 lead in the Test series.

England's humiliating defeat has not only opened floodgates of criticisms from former cricketers but also prompted fans from all around to mock their loss Down Under.

Former England skipper Miachael Vaughan said not just captain Root but entire England set-up is currently under pressure. Taking dig at the team, he said the only thing they have done right in the series is to turn up on time for every game.

Similarly, one of the greats of the game Ian Botham also expressed his disappointment and commented, " I’m a little embarrassed. To lose the Ashes in 12 days, I don’t know if that’s the fastest, but it’s got to be very close to it. I just think that England have lost their way."

Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer known for his witty takes on social media platforms wasted little time to joke Vaughan. Jaffer dug out an old tweet of Vaughan and posted it in a short video clip on Twitter while teasing him for his take on Team India when they were bowled out for 92 runs.

A flood of memes and online jokes washed away social media platforms, especially Twitter where fans did not spare a bit in brutally trolling the English side as well as Vaughan.
