Several reports were recently published in some sections of Pakistan media that the Men in Green will play their upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 matches, which will be held in India, in Bangladesh.

As per the reports, the development happened due to Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) demand before the International Cricket Council (ICC) following India’s refusal to visit Pakistan for the upcoming Asia Cup.

However, ICC has denied such reports that Pakistan will play their matches at a neutral venue during the forthcoming ODI World Cup to be held at different places in India.

BCCI has talks with the PCB over adopting a hybrid model for the upcoming Asia Cup to be held in Pakistan in September. The Indian board has suggested PCB to hold the India games in neutral venues. As per reports in the Pakistan media, the same model will apply for the ODI World Cup and Pakistan’s matches will be relocated to a neutral venue and most probably it will be Bangladesh.

However, BCCI is unwilling to let PCB use it to bargain for moving World Cup matches out of India. ICC is also not in favour of Pakistan’s demand. As per BCCI, they won’t be able to play cricket in Pakistan without government permission due to security issues. Pakistan is also putting forth the same argument before ICC.
