MS Dhoni has been facing criticism for stretching him  too long in the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL). Though many fans and experts were speculating that the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman may announce his retirement after the completion of IPL 2025, Dhoni has not given any clear indication about it.

In response, India's former T20 World Cup winning all-rounder Joginder Sharma feels that it is time for Chennai Super Kings icon MS Dhoni to rest.

"Considering Mahi's fitness level, he should play up to prove his fitness, but I believe it is time for him to rest," said Joginder during a recent interaction.

However, it seems Dhoni is in no mood to announce his retirement from IPL for now.

"After this IPL gets over, I have to work hard for another 6-8 months to see if my body can take this pressure. Nothing to decide now, but the love and affection I have seen is excellent," Dhoni had recently said in a post-match presentation.

Notably, CSK has been eliminated from the playoffs race of IPL 2025. He took over the captaicy from Ruturaj Gaikwad midway into IPL 2025 after the regular captain was injured. However, there was not much change in the fate of CSK.
