Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has axed promising cricketers Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer from the Central contract for not playing domestic cricket. Several fans and experts have been divided in their opinions about the development.

Meanwhile, former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal has joined the debate. As per Akmal, BCCI has made the right decision by removing Kishan and Iyer from the contract list. The former Pakistan great is of the opinion that players like them should set an example for other players by playing domestic cricket and not opting out of it.

“Shreyas Iyer was part of the first two Tests against England. It is important to value the game as it is because of the sport, you have made big in your career,” said Akmal.

“BCCI has taken the right decision. If Iyer and Ishan would have got the contracts, other Indian players would have behaved in the same fashion in the future. It is important to tell everyone that they are not bigger than the game. Nobody will dare to skip the matches from now onwards. This is a proof of good management,” he added.
