After his exploits in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 and domestic cricket, veteran cricketer Ajinkya Rahane has made a comeback to the Indian team.

Following his brilliant performance in the World Test Championship (WTC) Final against Australia, Rahane has been reinstated as the vice-captain of the Indian Test team.

However, Rahane has failed to replicate the same form in the two Tests against West Indies so far. In the first Test in Dominica, the veteran batsman was out for just three. Then in the first innings of the second Test, Rahane was out for only eight.

The development is giving former India opener Aakash Chopra the feeling that Rahane’s ‘notice period is on’.

“Rahane is the vice-captain of this team for sure. However, you get the feeling that the notice period is on. It happens with some players and it seems like it is happening with him as well or will happen,” said Chopra on his official YouTube channel.

“Rahane got an inside edge once earlier as well. Then he got it a second time and the ball hit the stumps. It was a session where India lost four wickets and the run-scoring was slow but in the end, India are in a commanding situation,” he added.
