Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star turned expert Ambati Rayudu was at the receiving end after the Indian Premier League (IPL) final between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Rayudu was supporting SRH, but KKR won the title in the end. He was quick to change sides after the match. Before the mega match, he was wearing an Orange waistcoat but changed it to a blue one after Kolkata’s third title win.

Following the incident, Rayudu had a fun-filled banter with former England captain Kevin Pietersen, who called him a Joker for changing the colour of his waistcoat.

Ambati tried to balance out things, saying he was supporting good cricket. However, after Pietersen's joker remark, the Indian cricketer was abused on social media.

Meanwhile, after sensing  the damage done to the reputation of Rayudu, Pietersen took to X (earlier known as Twitter) to urge the trollers to stop abusing the batter.

"This tribalism with/against Indian players on social media needs to slow down! Ambati Raydu and I were messing around after the IPL final, and all of a sudden, that banter has turned into an avalanche of abuse towards Ambati. PLEASE stop it," tweeted Pietersen.
