After Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowed out of the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) following defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Sunday, speculation is rife among the fans that veteran wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni will retire from the cash-rich league.

However, former India and CSK star Suresh Raina urged Dhoni to carry on for one more season to help promising batter Ruturaj Gaikwad grow as a captain.

Raina feels that CSK and their new captain Ruturaj Gaikwad will need  Dhoni for one more season.

"Ruturaj Gaikwad needs more time to mature, so MS Dhoni should play one more season," said Raina during a recent interaction.

Notably, RCB knocked out defending champions CSK by 27 runs to enter into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoffs.

As per CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, missing out on key players made a huge difference as they finished fifth in the standing.
