Former India cricketer and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star Ambati Rayudu has recently announced his retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL).

As per reports, Rayudu is embarking on a new chapter of his life. The aggressive right-hander will continue to showcase his skills on the field in USA’s Major League Cricket. Moreover, Rayudu is also reportedly planning to enter politics and he may contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Rayudu met Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy recently. Reddy is also the chief of YSRCP. As per reports, Jagan is keen to field Rayudu as a candidate from his party in the forthcoming elections. However, it is yet to be decided whether he will contest in the Assembly or Lok Sabha Polls.

As per sources, Rayudu may contest either from Ponnur or Guntur West segments for Assembly polls. He may pick Machilipatnam for Lok Sabha elections.

Notably, after helping CSK emerge champions in the IPL for a record equaling fifth time, Rayudu decided to retire from the cash-rich league. However, he will continue to play T20 cricket for Texas Super Kings, a team owned by CSK.
