The suspense over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni’s Indian Premier League (IPL) future has kept everyone confused. Dhoni himself has made his fans guessing about his retirement with confusing statements.

On many occasions, Dhoni has hinted that he will bid good bye to IPL by playing his last game at the Chepauk stadium in Chennai. But he dodged the question of Danny Morrison about his retirement.

Earlier, his close friend and former India and CSK teammate Suresh Raina revealed that Dhoni will play the next edition of IPL if he wins IPL 2023 for CSK. A few days ago, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming also said that he is now aware about Dhoni’s retirement at the end of the season.

Now another former CSK player and Dhoni’s former India teammate Robin Uthappa has provided another big update on Dhoni’s future.

As per Uthappa, Dhoni could play few more seasons of IPL if his knee injury is addressable.

“I don’t think there will be CSK without Dhoni. The veteran wicket-keeper batsman’s passion for cricket has not dwindled a bit. He still finds IPL really exciting. Moreover, with the onset of the impact player rule, the ball game has changed completely. If Dhoni manages to address his injured knee properly, he could play few more seasons of the cash-rich league,” said Uthappa.
